Our concern at Riverstone Family Medicine is for your health and well being. COVID19 is circulating quickly, and can cause severe ill in people with underlying heart or lung conditions.
We are in the middle of our annual cold and flu season, and there are many viral illnesses circulating in the Treasure Valley, and they have similar symptoms – cough, fever, body aches. Should you have these symptoms, they are hard to distinguish from COVID19. If you have symptoms, here are some things to do:
- If you are less than 65 years old and have no chronic illnesses – have a cough, low grade fever of 100 degrees or less, aches and chills – stay home and self-isolate yourself as much as possible. These symptoms almost always resolve with fluids and rest. Call our office with your questions.
- If you are having difficulty breathing or have a difficult time breathing without much exertion, and have a chronic disease such as diabetes, heart failure, COPD, asthma, or are immunocompromised, please call our office for advice. If calling after hours, please go to the Emergency Room.

Follow these steps to help prevent the spread of any viral illness if you are sick:
- If you are sick, stay home. If your children are sick keep them home.
- Wash your hands with soap and water – often – for at least 20 seconds
- Avoid sharing a bathroom and other household items – towels, dishes
- Keep your distance, do not shake hands, avoid the urge to hug friends and family, and cover your coughs and sneezes
- Clean and disinfect ( antiseptic cleaners ) high touch surfaces everyday
